the retreat
The Rest Retreat is organised by Praise and Vuyo through Area 3 Youth Ministries. Real people, a shared faith, and a genuine heart for helping young adults find rest.
Praise
Like many young adults, Praise knows how easy it is to get caught up in work, responsibilities, serving others, and trying to keep up with life. She believes rest is more than taking a holiday. It is about slowing down, making space for God, and finding the peace and direction that only He can give. That's why she created The Rest Retreat: a place where you can switch off, grow in your faith, and build genuine friendships with people who are on a similar journey.
Every part of the retreat has been planned with care so you can simply arrive, leave the planning behind, and be fully present. Praise's prayer is that you leave feeling rested, encouraged, and reminded of Jesus' invitation: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Vuyo
Vuyo's greatest passion is helping people build a genuine relationship with God. Working in accounting, he understands how easy it is for work, responsibilities, and the pace of life to take over. Alongside serving on the Portsmouth SDA Youth and Area 3 Youth Ministries teams, he is passionate about creating spaces where young adults can slow down, reconnect with God, and grow in their faith.
Vuyo regularly attends men's retreats and has experienced first-hand the difference they make. He values the honest conversations, meaningful connections, and spiritual growth that come from stepping away from everyday life. His hope is that everyone who comes to The Rest Retreat leaves feeling rested, encouraged, and inspired to continue growing in their walk with God.
